Who We Are

Lunacy is a creative music software company based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2021 by composers and producers, we make products used by industry professionals across all genres. We strive to make beautiful and intuitive music technology while pushing the boundaries of modern virtual instrument design.

Casey Kolb

CEO & Founder

Casey is Lunacy’s chief music technologist with a vision for creating a new breed of software instruments. After studying music and computer science at Princeton University and receiving a Masters in film composition from Berklee College of Music, he has worked on various hit movies and TV shows including Netflix’s Lost in Space and CW’s Supernatural, as well as AAA video games like Creative Assembly’s Total War franchise and XCOM2. Casey has developed and programmed bespoke virtual instruments for a number of composers and projects, from James Cameron’s The Game Changers to Netflix’s Afflicted series. In his spare time, Casey dabbles in amateur espresso making, barbershop quartetting, and adventuring with his girlfriend and rescue pup.

Bryan Winslow

Co-Founder

Bryan is one the primary creative forces behind Lunacy’s sampling processes and also serves as the head of operations for the company. He is responsible for some of the wide range of variety in CUBE’s sampled content and for curating a unique perspective and approach to developing CUBE’s overall sonic palette. When he’s not discovering new dimensions of sound with the Lunacy Team, Bryan is an LA based composer and guitarist who has written music for, or performed on, hundreds of films and episodes of television. His catalogue includes major works in genres ranging from animated children’s TV to blockbuster films. Outside of music, Bryan enjoys life with his fiancé Tracie, being a cat dad to Shmee, and pwning FIFA noobs with Tottenham Hotspur.

Max Davidoff-Grey

Co-Founder

Max is a composer, music producer and sound designer. As the resident synth guru at Lunacy, he brings a fresh perspective on modular synth sampling and product design. After studying composition at the Purcell School, he completed a music degree at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with a specialization in electronic music. Max is now based in Los Angeles, and has been assisting Joseph Trapanese on titles such as Shadow and Bone, Project Power, and Lady and the Tramp. Max’s scoring credits include HBO’s Sra Genovese. He also releases electronic music as “Max Grey” via the Cologne-based label Modularfield. Max drinks a large quantity of various IPA beers, and also famously enjoys a homemade tuna pasta dish.
