Mixdown Magazine has been a pillar of the Australian music community for nearly three decades. Mixdown is the ultimate read for Australian musicians, producers, and industry insiders. The magazine covers Australia’s thriving music scene and offers in-depth studio equipment reviews and how-to tutorials. So of course it was an honor to see Mixdown’s in-depth (and overwhelmingly positive) CUBE review. 

Right out the gate, reviewer Sam McNiece gushes how “every once in a while, a plugin releases that unlocks an extra layer of control you didn’t know you needed.” The review praises CUBE’s user interface, commenting how “everything is well laid out and simple to navigate.” The review also notes how CUBE’s visual layout differentiates it while serving as a very intuitive way to interact with the sounds within. We love to hear it, since we’ve always prioritized the user experience in CUBE’s design. 

When experimenting with transforming user audio, the review picks up on one of our users’ favorite features and commends how easy it is to sculpt “simple source audio into dense, varied, and intricate sounds.” Other highlights from the review focus on CUBE’s ability to generate happy accidents. Reviewer Sam McNiece mentions that he “had the most fun fiddling around with the randomize parameter buttons” to create new patches with some controlled chaos.

The review concludes with: “I can’t wait to see what wacky and cool sounds I can conjure from this magical plugin.” And neither can we.
